Roadkill is based on the experiences of young women trafficked to Scotland, Cora Bissett’s multi-award winning production, combining direct, chilling performances with video, animation and music, thrusts you into the brutal, complex and hidden world behind the newspaper headlines on sex-trafficking.
For the Roadkill photoshoot, we chose The Arches in Glasgow for its interesting shapes and unique atmosphere. We then projected pre-recorded imagery of laughing actors (as sex-trade traffickers) onto the brick walls behind the main actress, who was photographed as she ran through the tunnels. The final image is eerie and oppressive, conveying the fear of the pursued and trapped girl.
The outcome was both a hugely successful marketing campaign and award-winning theatre production.
